Vanessa Joret has been teaching people how to draw for over 18 years.  In this new online course she will take you step by step along the journey of learning how to draw.  This course is particularly ideal for those just starting out on that journey.  It is also great for those who have done some drawing and would like to develop their skills further.  If you would like to draw detailed realism then this course will give you the skills and techniques you need.

How does the course work?

Modules are graded (Beginners, Beginners Plus, Intermediate) and everything is clearly explained with easy to follow step-by-step demonstrations.  You will find that the skills you develop in one module will then be built on in the next.  As you progress through the course you will learn many aspects of drawing such as how to draw an accurate line drawing, how to use tone, how to create texture, drawing birds and feathers and much more.

All modules are pre-recorded so you can watch them anytime, anywhere on your phone, tablet or laptop, with unlimited replays.  This gives members complete flexibility to work at their own pace (no zoom classes, exams or deadlines).

The course is suitable for absolute beginners.  It is made up of  'Key Units' where you will do the major learning and 'Projects' where you will do the artwork. Vanessa is a patient teacher who always takes the time to explain and demonstrate the drawing process clearly making it easy to follow.

Key Unit 1 is the foundation stone of the course and in that module Vanessa's unique Dot&Grid Method is introduced. This is a great help to those who find getting an accurate line drawing in challenging (see the Free Drawing Course Preview for more info on this).

What's the difference?

In both Full Membership and Basic Membership you will have unlimited 24/7 access to all Key Units and Projects.   The big difference between the two options is that in Full Membership you also become a member of the "Show & Tell" community group (a bit like a closed Facebook group but it's within the site not on Facebook). This is where you can share your artwork and get feedback on your artwork from Vanessa!

Vanessa Joret

Vanessa has a great passion for sharing her love of drawing. She has been teaching children and adults how to draw for 18 years. Prior to Covid19 Vanessa was running eight classes per week at her home studio in The Blue Mountains Australia. During lock-down Vanessa decided to use the opportunity to build an Online Drawing Course, something she would never have had time to do normally. Vanessa has always loved teaching "raw beginners" and has developed her "Dot&Grid Method" to make it easier for beginners to be able to master the skill of drawing accurately. Vanessa is known as a patient teacher who always takes the time to explain things clearly.

Vanessa's artwork is owned by people all over the world. She has a sensitive realistic style which covers a broad range of subjects. Her artwork can be seen at The Argyle Gallery, The Rocks, Sydney and The Bay Tree Gallery, Berrima NSW.
